“Draw a future( painting) with present( watercolor) on history( canvas).”

Time is gold. But history is more valuable than time because it is a stacked of meaningful it. Suncheon art platform has historical trace and remains. So new buildings should carefully attention and treat of it. Then it can be more significant place, not just open space in the city. It should be harmonize with history, present and future.

The car road that located on the south side of site is trace of historical castle wall. Rebuild a border of castle wall along the trace and install pavement made of same material in between. Then car road will be historical road and walls will be background of landscape. It connects history and present. Walls and pavement bring to forgotten memories. 

Visitors move and enter will be very natural like watercolors freely permeate on canvas from square and art center to historical road and new Yeonja-Ru. Especially, Galleries connect each other by smooth slopes. Through the voids and windows, they can see surrounding environments. 

Eventually this painting completed due to visitors. Buildings are located as close as possible, therefore open space is maximized. Open space is divide three parts. They are open space for walk, square for do anything and green space for relaxation. 

The Buildings are located close together to make open space maximized. Open space located in north side of site for connecting the underground mall and culture street. It will be start point of historical tour of Suncheon.

It has three materials mainly. Natural rock. It reminds history of Suncheon. Wood. It represents nature of Suncheon and reminds Yeonja-ru. Concrete. It combines other materials.
